Who do you think you are?

BATMAN! Dana nana nana nana BATMAN!

Ahem.

We let one of the kids tell a joke at bingo last night. He was a superstar.

The thing about working in the office is you see everyone. Every person coming in or out of the park at one point or another has to come visit to straighten something out. This is the part of the job that I love. I get to know so many people, and end up remembering the sites they're staying at and for how long. I don't sit and study their information, but somehow it manages to seep in.

That being said, I still get people quite confused. The other day, for example, I had this ongoing joke with two of the campers about losing the electronic card that opens the front gate. The next morning, these people (or at least I had thought it was them) came in and I made a big deal that they returned their gate card. There may or may not have been applause on my part. They stared at me. It was only then I realized that they weren't the same people. Awesome.

I'm also finding that communication is pretty awful around that place, and I'm usually the last to hear about things (being the office newbie and all). We have a lot of staff with summer birthdays, so there is always a card flying around for us to sign. Someone had mentioned to me to sign Ray's card. Ray operates the tractors and fixes golf carts, so naturally, I wrote, "Happy Birthday Tractor Man!" in his card. When I looked at the card a day later, I saw that everyone else had written things like "Have a good one, Susan!" or "Keep smiling, Susan!"

Whoops.
