Analyze This

I have a reoccurring dream.

I only have this dream when I sleep in. It's one of those dreams that happens in my regular setting so it feels as though it could really happen. Or maybe it has already happened and I just think it's a dream. Or maybe I'm still dreaming, and what I think is a dream is real life and what I think is real life is really a dream. I've never seen Inception so it's hard to know for sure.

In my dream I wake up in my bed after a long sleep-in. I get up and see a bug crawling on my headboard. I squish the bug and get on my hands and knees because I know what's coming next. More bugs and creatures. Under the bed. And in my covers. The bugs never move quickly and I'm able to squish them all on the first or second try. There are lots of bugs, but they don't swarm or overwhelm my efforts to squish them.

Throughout the dream, I remain completely calm. I am not phased by the multitudes of insects in my bed. There is always something weird to squish them with. Last night it was a lid to a Tupperware container. These are not tiny insects. These are great big, giant (at least two inches in length) bugs. Cockroaches. Scorpions. Beetles. Big crunchy bugs that make noise when I squish them. After they've been destroyed they seem to vanish. At the end of the dream, after all of the bugs have been exterminated, the same thing (sometimes there is more than one) comes crawling out from under the bed:

A baby turtle.

I pick it up and smile. I stroke his soft belly and I say, "Oh, a baby turtle."

And then I wake up.

I am now accepting analyses of this dream in the comments.

Your help is much appreciated.

What? Where is the baby turtle from? "Oh, a baby turtle?" This is how your dream ends, on a regular basis?

I would say there's no growing ordeal you can't overcome without seeking support and entertaining a green and positive idea.
Well, according to dreammoods.com so take that for what it's worth:

Bedroom
To dream that you are in the bedroom, signifies aspects of yourself that you keep private. It is also indicative of your sexual nature and intimate relations.

Bed
To see your bed in your dream, represents your intimate self and discovery of your sexuality. If you are sleeping in your own bed, then it denotes security and restoration of your mind. You may be looking for domestic bliss, for peace or for some form of escape. If you are waking up in a different and/or unknown bed, then it represents the consequences of the decisions you have made. The dream may also be a pun on the completion of a project and "putting it to bed." Consider the condition of the bed. If the bed is made, then it symbolizes security. If the bed is unmade, then it indicates that certain secrets will soon be exposed or revealed. Or that you are exhibiting some carelessness in your sexual behavior.

Insect
To see insects in your dream, signify minor obstacles that you must overcome. There are small problems and annoyances that need to be dealt with. You feel that you are under attack. Or something or someone may be "bugging" or pestering you. Alternatively, insects are symbolic of precision, alertness, and sensitivity. You may need to organize your thoughts and sort out your values. Sometimes they are seen as divine messengers.

Turtle
To see a turtle in your dream, symbolizes wisdom, faithfulness, longevity, and loyalty. It also suggests that you need to take it slow in some situation or relationship in your life. With time and patience, you will make steady progress. Alternatively, a turtle indicates that you are sheltering yourself from the realities of life. You are putting forth a hard exterior and not letting others in. As a result, you are feeling withdrawn.

Well this made things super creepy.
"Miracles, miracles, miracles, miracles..."

:D
Maybe it signifies that it's time to purge and clean your space. You know spring cleaning, new beginnings and all that.

Even if you use code names and no exclamation points I still know this is you, Mother. You have a one track mind.

I'm pretty sure it means that you have completely lost your mind.

But if it makes you feel any better, just before waking up this morning I dreamt that there was a nest of tarantulas under my bed. Also I was trapped inside a film production of Hamlet while my brothers watched it on TV.

I'm sure we were applauding your efforts as a thespian.
That's quite the dream! I'm going to take your request seriously, and (even though I'm not an expert in the slightest) share some questions and thoughts that pop into my mind.

If this is a recurring dream, how many years has it been going? What was the "big question" in your life when it first occurred? Was it ever answered? Is there a similar question now?

It seems like the bugs and the turtle are coming from the same place. How are they different? How are they alike? For example, both the bugs and the turtle are unclean animals in the Old Testament.

You don't seem to be fazed by either, but is there a difference in your emotions when you see them? Maybe bored with one and excited with another? How would you feel if you accidentally squashed the turtle with your Tupperware lid?

Did you ever have a pet turtle?

Are you tired of my questions yet?

You seem to be a brave(?) person, sharing your dreams with the online public! :-)

I posted this because I thought it was funny. I was half joking when I asked for analyses, not expecting anyone to respond. Hah. I enjoy you all, blog readers. Thanks for your awesome follow through.
Yeah, I half expected it was meant as a joke. :-) Probably the most interesting part of the dream for me was that it is recurring.
